Find a Project Lifesaver Agency

If you prefer to donate to a charity near you please find a Project Lifesaver agency by clicking the logo. Call the agency and ask how you could best help their Project Lifesaver program. The local Alzheimer Society or a charity that serves people in the Autism Spectrum are usually a good choice when the agency does not accept direct donations.

Victorian Order of Nurses SMILE Program

To donate to the VON SMILE program for North Bay please ensure your donation designation is to North Bay. By designating North Bay and Project Lifesaver, your gift will also support VON SMILE in communities near North Bay such as Sturgeon Falls. Please also state that your gift is in support of Project Lifesaver. Currently, the VON SMILE program is only available in North Bay, Hastings Northumberland Prince Edward, Kingston, Lanark, Leeds and Grenville, and Napanee in Ontario.

The VON SMILE program (Seniors Managing Independent Living Easily) program connects seniors at risk of losing their independence with local services, helping them remain in their own homes. Project Lifesaver is one such service. If VON SMILE clients have an annual income below a certain threshold, the clients can choose the service (like Project Lifesaver) and the VON will coordinate with the agency (like BAYSAR) and cover the cost. Donations to the VON SMILE program will help keep this valuable service funded. For clients whose annual income exceeds the threshold for funding, VON can offer service navigation to assist with maintaining independence.

Besides ground search and rescue, some OSARVA teams are also Project Lifesaver agencies (like BAYSAR). Please consider giving directly to an OSARVA team in your area, especially if they support Project Lifesaver.
